We're Green
At Biologics Modular, our unique business model allows us to be good environmental stewards, while revolutionizing the way biopharmaceutical products are developed.
Because of U.S. trade imbalances, thousands of shipping containers sit rusting and unused in shipyards and freight centers around the country. These community eyesores are difficult, if not impossible, to dispose of.
Biologics Modular reclaims used, intermodal shipping containers as our foundational building blocks for manfacturing modular cGMP cleanroom facilities. This earth-friendly use of these huge containers, made of corrugated, weathering steel, results in the ultimate recycled product with roughly 90% of the cleanroom facility fabricated from reused materials.
Given that 8 out of every 10 biopharmaceutical drugs never make it out of clinical trials, failure and obsolescence is likely. While traditional cleanroom construction must be torn down and trucked to the landfill, Biologics Modular cleanrooms, which can be disassembled and returned, are the ultimate in environmental stewardship.
And, Biologics takes recycling a giant step further with our innovative business model. In the event that the modular facility is no longer needed, we have designed our structures so that they can be taken back, reclaiming and reusing them again and again unheard of in the industry.
